Marketing Account Manager

Robot Creative is an award-winning marketing and branding firm based in San Antonio, Texas. We specialize in Branding, Fractional CMO and Outsourced Marketing services. Education:
4-year degree in a related field

Experience:
min 7 years of experience in an account executive, marketing manager, business development or related position (This is not an entry level position.)

Reports to:
Business Development Director

We are seeking an Account Manager who has the following attributes:

  • Ability to work with prospective clients to understand needs, qualify the opportunity and develop sales materials and/or proposals
  • Ability to develop and grow relationships with business owners and senior/executive-level stakeholders
  • Ability to lead client meetings and facilitate effective communication between client and internal teams
  • Ability to persuasively advocate for your team’s recommendations during client-facing meetings
  • Know client priorities and be able to advocate for them during internal meetings
  • Detail-oriented and accurate, being fully aware of the context, timing and next steps for each client project
  • Ability to manage multiple client projects and prospective deals that include a mix of short- and long-term deadlines
  • Ability to take highly detailed and extremely accurate notes
  • Self-directed and problem-solver who can work with limited supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Responsibilities

Client Relationships
The Account Manager serves as the main point of contact for client account management and relationship development. They attend all client meetings and handle project communication between meetings. This includes written and phone correspondence, as well as additional intermediary meetings with the client, as needed. Written and oral communication must be excellent. This person in this role must ensure the client is aware of the status of their project at all times and feels that we are responding in a timely manner with clearly communicated project expectations.

Prospect Development
In addition to working with active clients, the Account Manager is an integral part of the business development team. They are responsible for handling inbound project requests from past clients and new prospects, tracking sales opportunities and developing estimates and proposals. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, the Account Manager will help qualify sales opportunities, manage the sales pipeline and conduct key account outreach for new business opportunities.

Internal Team Coordination
Works with internal staff and resources to complete the project according to specifications, on time and within budget. Takes detailed project notes and provides them to the Project Manager and production staff. Reviews production work for accuracy and quality and escalates questions to the leadership team.

Vendor Communication
Manages vendor communications regarding client projects. This will include gathering of technical specifications, procuring quotes and communicating between the vendor and our internal team to meet established project goals, budgets, and deadlines.

Project Management
Account Managers work closely with the Project Management team on a regular basis to create new projects, update tasks/timelines/budgets and to keep the client abreast of any scope, budget or timeline changes.

Time Management
The Account Manager must be able to multitask and juggle several clients and projects simultaneously, adhering to established guidelines for prioritization.

Internal Meetings
Account Managers attend several regularly scheduled internal meetings, such as: Morning Staff Meetings, Weekly Department Meetings, Project Kick Offs, and additional ad hoc meetings as needed.

Time Tracking
Account Managers must accurately keep daily timesheets and track 100% of their project time.

We all pitch in to take out the garbage, run errands, assist other team members, etc... the list is open-ended.
