Sponsorship Spotlight: Kinetic Kids

December 3, 2019

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Robot Creative participates in a number of in-kind or partial in-kind sponsorships each year with organizations that have shared values. This year, as part of a partial in-kind sponsorship, Robot Creative took on the task of redesigning the Kinetic Kids’ website. The non-profit needed a website that fully explained the intent of the organization and made it easy and accessible for donations and registrations. Recognizing the organization’s valuable contribution to the children of the San Antonio community, Robot Creative happily provided help.

Kinetic Kids provides physical and creative programming to children with special needs in San Antonio, Schertz and New Braunfels. The non-profit offers over 200 seasonal programs including recreational sports, fine arts, and educational programming. They offer monthly competitions and one-day events, providing fun and engaging opportunities to over 5,000 area children who are traditionally excluded from such events and activities.

The function of this non-profit makes registrations for volunteers and participants imperative. With the former site, the process was deemed a challenge to use and had unclear instructions for a multi-dimensional process. The website could also benefit from an aesthetic refresh and improved messaging.

Robot Creative developed a responsive, custom WordPress theme, provided copywriting, graphics and consulting to help reorganize information to address the operational challenges. The events and fundraisers were put into their own section to give them more visibility. Volunteers and Partners were given sections to clearly highlight opportunities for them, and the Donate page was put more prominently and made easier to use. The new copy on the site also helped guide visitors through the processes of how to interact with the organization, whether through registration processes, donating or volunteering. ROBOT also provided training so organization staff can administer the site on their own.

“This organization is doing such great work for the community. We wanted to help make the site super easy to use,” explained Lara August, Robot Creative Founder. “The best part is hearing about how kids are being more easily registered each day and taking part in the fun activities Kinetic Kids has to offer.”

The internal team has raved about the improvements and have shared stories from parents and family members who previously struggled with the old site. Donors and stakeholders reported approval on the improved look and messaging of the site as well.

“We are thankful we found this fabulous company to work with for a website re-design (we basically started over from scratch),” says Tracey Fontenot, Co-founder and Executive Director. “They did a fantastic job. The work was professional and timely, and they were very patient and accommodating in addressing the many facets of Kinetic Kids with regard to website content and function. They are a wonderful team, well versed on current trends, and were helpful in giving direction.”
