SAN ANTONIO, TX – Robot Creative, a creative firm specializing in branding and marketing strategy, has announced its sponsorship of the San Antonio Philharmonic, a newly formed musician-led orchestra. The firm has pledged support as a corporate sponsor as well as through in-kind services for portions of the brand launch.
The San Antonio Philharmonic was formed after the bankruptcy of the San Antonio Symphony. This musician-led startup was formed to retain the musicians in the community with a mission to make world-class orchestral performances accessible to the community and to reflect San Antonio’s rich history, culture and diversity in new and innovative ways.
The San Antonio Philharmonic founders approached Robot Creative to help them launch the new brand and gain visibility to support their first season with a launch campaign and website. The situation required organization to develop a full program and launch a brand and website within just 60-90 days, in advance of the first season.
“When the musicians from the Philharmonic approached us, there was no question that we would become huge supporters,” explains Lara August, Robot Creative’s founder and CEO. “We were more than honored to be a part of their launch.”
The San Antonio Philharmonic’s new logo design and branding take inspiration from the city’s vibrant and diverse culture. “We really liked how you could ‘hear’ one of the variations of the logo and including the nickname ‘SA Phil’ feels very approachable,’” Brian Petkovich, SA Phil President and bassoonist, explains. “It was a pleasure to collaborate with the creative minds at Robot Creative to develop our new identity.”
In addition to branding, the SA Phil needed a website to manage ticketing and donations. ROBOT created a WordPress website and identified third-party integrations to manage ticketing and donations. The website was customized to reflect the new brand and was structured to help users quickly find event information, season subscription information and donation options.
To promote the launch, Robot Creative facilitated weekly collaborative meetings with SA Phil leaders and outsourced vendors to plan and execute a strategic launch. The firm coordinated everything from sponsorship communications, media relations and digital advertising promotion (search, display and social).
These marketing efforts, along with earned media coordinated by Nancy Cook-Monroe PR, gained SA Phil national recognition and an outpouring of community support. The Philharmonic saw a great turnout on opening weekend and has seen continued growth of subscribers and supporters since, including the Robot Creative.
